Edinburgh, UK 20.01.2018
Last night, my boyfriend Emil and I went on a date night to Byron Hamburgers at their Edinburgh North Bridge restaurant. We were invited to try their hamburger named ‘the Calvin Haggis’, which is only on offer for the week before Burns Night (January 25) each year. First, we got to try delicious strawberry milkshakes with a starter, mac & cheese balls. It was a dish that I had never tried before, but I was pleasantly surprised by its delicious cheesy flavor, which was perfect to lead up to the main course.
The Calvin Haggis burger is like a full Scottish breakfast between two buns; it features a 6oz burger patty, bacon, onion relish, a tattie scone, American cheese, dry cure bacon, a fried egg, white onions, Bryon sauce, and the star of the dish: haggis! It is a burger with many flavors, and perfect for a weekend treat! As a side we ordered cheesy bacon fries, so we were completely topped off in the cheese and bacon area 🙂 . I am a big fan of haggis, a traditional Scottish delicacy, so if you ever visit Edinburgh and are looking for the whole local culinary experience, this burger is a great way to enjoy it.
The Calvin Haggis burger will only be available from January 22nd until January 28th, so if you get a chance to visit the restaurant I would highly recommend to try it! The staff at the restaurant were very kind, and the atmosphere is also great to enjoy a nice meal! I want to thank Byron for giving us the opportunity to try the burger, and I recommend visiting and trying it out for yourself!
